NRWC Policy for the collection, use, storage and management of data
Our Commitment
The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to communicate how National Rural Women’s Coalition (NRWC) manage, collect, deal with, protect and allow access to personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. The National Rural Women’s Coalition understands the importance placed on the privacy of any personal information that it collects, manages, creates or stores.
Policy Purpose
This policy aims to protect privacy, promote responsible and transparent handling of personal information by NRWC whilst providing a means to make complaints about any alleged privacy interference.
Commercial in Confidence
During its operations, the NRWC frequently handles sensitive project proposals, financial data, and business plans. All such information is treated as Commercial in Confidence. The NRWC protects this data using the same high standards of security applied to its own proprietary information, and will not disclose it to third parties without a written agreement.
Process
This Privacy Policy applies to the management of the personal information of our current and former:-
- Directors
- Ambassadors
- Contractors
- Stakeholders
- Volunteers
- Prospective employees,
- Research participants, and;
- Any person and/or entity who may provide information to the NRWC.
In certain circumstances, the NRWC may collect or request personal or sensitive information.
Unless otherwise provided by law, NRWC will not collect, hold, use or disclose sensitive information without consent.
NRWC services may be accessed on an anonymous basis or by using a pseudonym in certain circumstances.
Information provided to NRWC will not be disclosed to a third party without the express permission of the information provider.
Reasonable steps will be made to ensure that the personal information held by NRWC is protected from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
Electronic data and personal information will be stored on a server that is secure. Hard copy records will be stored in a locked and secure facility.
NRWC will destroy personal information in a suitable manner when it is no longer required. Electronic information held by NRWC will be destroyed via deletion from the server. Hard copy documents and information will be destroyed by shredding or incineration of the document.
This Policy will be made available to all individuals from whom NRWC collects any personal information via the NRWC website or by requesting a copy by email, or in-person.
