In 2008, the National Rural Women’s Coalition conducted an online survey on health information and access to services in rural and remote areas and invited those in rural and remote Australia to participate in order to support a submission to the Federal Office for Women.Specifically, the online survey and questionnaire targeted ‘health infrastructure and access to services in rural and remote Australia, particularly focusing on maternity services and their contribution to sustainable rural communities.
