Helping Prevent Family Violence in Rural Australia

This project used the enormous diversity and breadth of rural women’s networks and contacts across rural and remote Australia to help to prevent family violence. This prevention model is built on developing the community’s understanding of what family violence is and encouraging commitment to its abolition A strong focus is on increase the skills of rural young people in how to identify and develop healthy relationships.

The Project: A key project for the NRWC in 2009/10 is to identify projects and activities that have supported some communities to become thriving and successful by identifying stories and best practice examples from those communities.
