Another new project that the NRWC are working on is one to empower rural women to take a leadership role in their community in the implementation of the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children. This is a joint project with Australian Women Against Violence Alliance (AWAVA) and the Queensland Centre for Domestic and Family Violence Research, CQUniversity.
The NRWC, AWAVA and CQUniversity will work together to develop a toolkit and guide to support women to implement the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children in their community. The resources will focus on preventing violence before it occurs by working to change underlying causes and building a culture of respectful relationships.
We will be developing this project further in the coming weeks and will have a lot more to report on and let you know ho you can get involved.

The National Rural Women’s Coalition are a member of the Breast Cancer Foundation board and would like as many rural, regional and remote women possible to join the Breast Cancer Foundation’s latest initiative – Register4.
