Food, Laughter & a Network Launch

The NRWC and a host of local Griffith women and businesses celebrated the launch of the new National Rural Women’s Network in Griffith on Saturday 23rd October, 2010.

Celebrations started with the highly successful ‘New Wave Technology for Women’ workshops, where over fifty local women were shown the ins and outs of facebook and twitter for both personal and business use, by the engaging Kristy De Camps, from elevation media, the NRWC’s Social Network Developer and Social Media Strategist.

The new National Rural Women’s Network was launched at a gala dinner that same evening in Griffith and included world-class entertainment by internationally renowned comedian, Fiona O’Loughlin, who has appeared regularly on Rove Live, Spicks and Specks and Good News Week and many other television shows and comedy festivals around the world.

The local food and wine was delicious and the fundraising auction by local agents Rawlinson & Brown was an overwhelming success, raising enough funds to send a minimum of three Riverina women to attend the forthcoming NRWC’s National Rural Women’s Conference, in early 2012.

With CWAA President, Heather Weiland, launching the New National Rural Women’s Network; Casella Wines’ Les Worland speaking about the new Casella Wines Rural Women’s Awards and the announcement of the upcoming Online Financial Education Workshops for rural women with an exciting new partnership with local Griffith businesses, Roy Spagnolo & Associates and Integral Rural Financial Services, the weekend was a phenomenal success.
