The NRWC have commissioned the creation of an exciting new national network for the regional, rural and remote women of Australia.
The new network is called the National Rural Women’s Network and is a place for all women to meet, network, share ideas, get information, talk about the real issues affecting them and inform government policy.
The National Rural Women’s Network also has its own member-based website with an amazing array of ways for women to get together, network, chat and support each other and their communities – click here to visit the site and join the Network!
As well as having its own website, the new network will link in with existing networks and services to connect women through newsletters, email, social media, traditional media, word-of-mouth and face-to-face events.
Both the network and our social networking strategy have been developed with Kristy De Camps, of elevation media, as well the Network launch which was held at a gala fundraising dinner in Griffith, NSW, on Saturday, 23rd October, 2010.
We enjoyed fabulous local food, a fundraising auction and hilarious entertainment with internationally renowned comedian Fiona O’Loughlin.
The NRWC also be held two FREE networking and technology workshops for women that same day in Griffith. Facilitated by Kristy De Camps, of elevation media, the first workshop was an introduction to the new online social networking technologies like Facebook and Twitter. This workshop gave all 50 attendees a great understanding of how and why these technologies work and showed participants exactly how to use them. The second workshop demonstrated exactly how participants can use these online technologies for their business, service or community group.
The response to the gala dinner and workshops was overwhelming, with support from the local community and businesses well above expectations and scores of women signing up to join the National Rural Women’s Network.
Remember, the new network is YOUR network, and we need your involvement and input to make it develop and grow. Feel free to contact us at any time with your ideas and suggestions and don’t forget to JOIN THE NETWORK TODAY!
