Current Projects

  • Expansion of the National Rural Women’s Network.
  • Working to network with as many other rural women’s organisations across the country as possible.
  • Marketing and sharing of the Family Violence Toolkit for Communities.
  • Sharing and Marketing of the Disaster Preparation Toolkit for rural communities.
  • Hosting of the first National Rural Women’s Conference in February 2013, Canberra.
  • Member of the Alliance Working Party to lobby government as they develop housing policy, especially for women in rural areas.
  • Working with the other National Women’s Alliances to prepare an NGO submission to the UN CSW (Commission on the Status of Women 2013) focusing on addressing issues relating to family and domestic violence against women and their children.
  • Working with other Women’s Alliances to lobby the two political parties to include an impact statement on women and gender issues as they develop government policies into the future.
  • Participating in discussions on food sustainability.
  • Participating in discussions on rural education.
  • Seeking funding to run more e learning and leadership programs for women in rural areas.
  • Developing the "Cuppa With" program, an online learning tool for women in rural areas.
